Overview

IllumiNative was a Native women-led organization founded to promote visibility of and build power for Native peoples. They strategically sunset operations at the end of 2025 and have since evolved into the digital-first platform Indigenous House.

For years, Native stories were told by everyone but Native people. IllumiNative set out to flip that, putting Native voices in charge of how their communities were represented. Grounded in years of original research, their work moved across sports, film, scripted television, journalism, and community organizing, turning visibility into lasting cultural and political change. This extraordinary movement was powered by joy, cultural celebration, and a belief that communities should author their own stories.
