Overview

A Step Ahead Chattanooga's strategy focused on data-driven, targeted messaging and community outreach to spark conversations in Appalachia about long-term, reversible birth control, empowering women to determine their own reproductive outcomes.

Through their work, thousands of women have received free access to birth control, resulting in hundreds of fewer unintended pregnancies and a new dialogue around reproductive justice built on shared values and a deep, nuanced, sensitive understanding of their community.

A Step Ahead Chattanooga Executive Director Susan Vandergriff accepted the award and gave a keynote presentation at ComNetworkV.
